In Munich Schwabing, another branch of the well-known Brenner restaurant has opened at the opera on Maximilianstrasse. In contrast to its older brother, the Brenner kitchen is fresher and trendier. Although the Brenner classics are also on the menu, emphasis is placed on high-quality food combining and freestyle sushi. There are around ten sushi variants on offer, divided into maki and sashimi. But of course there is also a more traditional way. In keeping with autumn, a pumpkin soup with roasted pumpkin seeds or a creamy pumpkin tortino are on the menu. Alternatively, you can choose from a beetroot carpaccio or avocado as a starter. If you like it healthy, you should try the superfood salad. There, the Brenner cuisine combines pretty much everything that has come onto the menu of a health-conscious eater in recent years. Starting with tender kale, the salad, which costs €17.50, contains quinoa, goji berries, hemp seeds and carob. As befits a Brenner restaurant, the prices are in the upper segment. Even though the Brenner Kitchen, unlike the Brenner Operngrill, is no longer directly on Maximilianstrasse, you still pay the same prices. Thin slices of beef cost €24.50, while Atlantic sole costs €36. But you also get dishes of the highest quality that have been carefully selected based on their origin. If you want something cheaper, you can also make do with a few vegetables; a sweet potato polpetti costs €15.50. In summary, a visit to the new Brenner Kitchen is definitely worth it. And if you don't really like going to the restaurant at the moment, you can simply order your food to go and enjoy it in the comfort of your own home. The ambience in the Brenner kitchen will certainly be a lot more interesting!
